Want to get away? While Southwest Airlines made that motto famous with their TV commercials, Visit Jacksonville is offering visitors AND residents a chance to make that happen, whether traveling far or right in your own backyard.
“Like” the new Visit Jacksonville Facebook page between Thursday, Jan. 27 at noon and Friday, Jan. 28 at noon to be entered to win a beach getaway in Jacksonville. Discover the newly renovated boutique hotel, The Palms Retro. Dine at Culhane’s Irish Pub, featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” and then play at Adventure Landing and the Beaches Museum & History Center. And, of course, learn the latest scoop on Jacksonville, interact with other fans and offer your insight on the wall as well! Win-win!
The getaway package includes:
- One night stay at The Palms Retro, valid Sunday-Thursday; Jan. 31 – July 31, 2011

It's cool to create a backyard habitat for bees and hummingbirds and butterflies, and is pretty amazing how much life just a small butterfly garden can have. We went to talk to expert Mark from Treehill Nature Center in Jacksonville Florida. Treehill is known for its yearly butterfly festival and Mark knows what plants you need to use. From afar it doesn't look that difficult, but when you take a closer look, you'll realize that kitesurfing takes a lot of coordination. It was a beautiful day at the beach.
