The Real Star of the Gator Bowl
This New Year's Day, an annual event takes place that brings visitors from all over the globe to our city, but only the people in town can experience what Jacksonville has to offer...until now. The Progressive Gator Bowl, one of the longest-running bowl games in the BCS, will pit Big 10's University of Michigan Wolverines versus the Mississippi State University Bulldogs of the SEC at 1:30 p.m. EST in Jacksonville and on ESPN.
With the ESPN broadcast, people who weren't fortunate enough to come to scenic Jacksonville (yes, I may be biased and am not ashamed to admit it), will get to see the beauty shots during cutaways to commercials showcasing our waterways, attractions and more. But, they will also get to see the new television advertising campaigns, too, showing what people who love Jacksonville already know - that the city itself is the real star of the Gator Bowl.
While watching the new commercial, appropriately titled Immerse Yourself Here, I feel a sense of pride in my community which confirms why I love living here. Perhaps the commercial might even inspire new visitors or residents looking to immerse themselves in the diversity of activity, dining and more that Jacksonville has to offer with a vacation or relocation.
So, whatever the outcome of the football game may be, one thing is for certain, millions will be checking out Jacksonville.
Can't wait until Saturday? For a sneak peek of the new commercial, check it out below:
