Jacksonville’s Downtown Core Hosts Jazz Festival for Second Consecutive Year

It’s hard to believe, but a week from tomorrow begins the Jacksonville Jazz Festival. The 2010 event will be held in Downtown Jacksonville’s urban core for the second consecutive year, May 27-30. I attended last year’s festival, held for the first time in the Laura Street corridor after many years at Metro Park, and was amazed. Downtown is transformed into an arts and music mecca with stages scattered from The Jacksonville Landing to Hemming Plaza.
The 2010 Jacksonville Jazz Festival is sure to be a hit with headliners like Patti LaBelle and Chris Botti. This is a free event and very family-friendly, so what can it hurt to come Downtown and see what it’s all about? Here are some photos from my 2009 Jacksonville Jazz Festival experience.
